Mechanical & Marine Engineering

The Mechanical & Marine Engineering group within KNUD E. HANSEN A/S has proven expertise and experience across the whole range of ship types, cargo systems and machinery systems.

This extends to design and conversion, regulatory compliance consultancy, safety and efficiency, as well as to practical operation and training.

This expertise is enhanced by the diverse backgrounds of our staff members within this group. They include former owner representatives, flag/class surveyors, a former head of yard mechanical engineering, marine engineers and consultant ship designers. The ongoing training of our staff, our participation in research projects and our continuously increasing portfolio of vessel-integrated Efficient-Safe-Reliable systems demonstrates our commitment to fulfilling the requirements of owners operating in today’s market with its emphasis on managing high fuel costs and increasing environmental constraints.

    In-service

We are regularly called out to perform lightweight surveys and inclining experiments, some of which have to be completed in challenging conditions or time scales. We also have experience in troubleshooting operational problems ranging from loading computer discrepancies to loading conditions optimisation and stability enhancements.

    Training

We have held a variety of different training courses in recent years; including a number covering the fundamentals of ships’ systems and others addressing maritime manufacturers market potential awareness. Other courses can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of an individual client.
