The vessel is designed for BP Norway on behalf of the Skarv-Idun licenses, built at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea. The BP Skarv is a FPSO and will be operating at The Skarv and Idun development located in the Norwegian Continental Shelf, ap. 200 km west of Sandnessjøen, between the Norne field (35 km to the north) and Heidrun (45 km to the south) in water depths between 350 and 450 m.
