Class renewal and lifetime extension for this existing Offshore Rig involved a large number of different issues, covering e.g. Class remarks, updating and renewing arrangements and outfitting, mechanical equipment and working areas. KNUD E. HANSEN has assisted both Owner and Yard during design, preparation, execution and as-built documentation.

The work took place at Fayard’s facilities in Denmark during the summer 2014.

Scope of Work

For the Owner:

• Design and rearrangement of offices and recreation area, including extension of deck house
• Design and rearrangement of Galley, Mess Room and Provision areas
• Design and rearrangement of Laundry and Linen Handling Room
• Design and arrangement of Fire Station and Lifting Gear Stores on Main Deck level
• Check of HVAC requirement due to extension of accommodation and location of Fire Dampers
• Handling of Class contact and discussions on behalf of Owner
• On site assistance during the yard stay

For the Yard:

• Design and workshop drawings for Drum Rack
• Design and workshop drawings for extension of platform in Sack Stores
• Workshop drawings for new Crane Pedestal
• Workshop drawings for extension of accommodation, including external outfitting
• Redesign of lifting fittings on delivered upper part of Crane Pedestal, including procedure
• and welding instructions
• Lifting calculation and lifting instruction of existing crane pedestal
• Workshop drawings for new container platform, including FEM analysis
• Design and workshop drawings for hose stores at Loading Station (Manifold)
• Bumper arrangement for cable protection
• Workshop and other necessary drawing for refitting in SCR room
• Drawing for redesign of lifting beam, including FEM analysis
• Layout and FEM analysis for flush Deck hatch
• Handling of Class contact and discussions on behalf of Yard
• As-built documentation for various other areas
